Actor Chris Colfer, who plays the gay character Kurt, said in an interview with blogger Perez Hilton about the torments he suffered in adolescence because of their sexuality. He said he was constantly bullied by doing theater and participate in the discussion group at school.
Chirs recalled that when he was doing tests for Glee, he wanted the role of handicapped Artie, but series creator Ryan Murphy, said he wrote the character Kurt to Chris in mind.
He said he is happy to play Kurt, because the character has much to do with what he felt in adolescence. 'I relate to the vulnerability of Kurt and the fact that he is still discovering. We're all looking for something to belong. I found this on Glee 'he said.
